We are pleased to present our featured #smallchange collab show for the month of September -- THIS COAST THAT COAST: Works by Hair Barrels x CoolCoolNYC.

Hair Barrels are the collective works of Peter Turba and Justin Tuyay.  The two met at university and their friendship grew from their mutual interests in surfing, babes, radical extreme sports lifestyles, humor and pop culture.  They moved to New York to experience a faster paced lifestyle, leave the beach community and realize what it’s like to live somewhere that actually has seasons.  Their work comes from an inherent desire to make their audience laugh and engage them to participate in the process and humor.

CoolCoolNYC is the moniker of Christopher Tuyay.  Currently working as a creative designer in NYC, Christopher is inspired by his everyday experiences mixed with cultural references in music, art, design and fashion.  His series of watercolor illustrations, typographic paintings, and sculptures each reflects his boyish SoCal sentiment and explores the idea of conveying one’s style through a visual tapestry of work meant to be considered as a whole..
