DONNA: Williamsburg – Established in 2012 by Leif Young Huckman (Freemans, 5 Leaves, Marlow & Sons, Santos Party House), designed by Evan & Oliver Haslegrave of hOmE, Donna is a transportive oasis on the outskirts of Williamsburg. Featuring a rum-driven cocktail list inspired by the classics created by Jeremy Oertel (Dram, Mayahuel, Death & Co.), delicious tacos and other Latin fare by Eduardo Sandoval (ex-Mission Chinese/Cantina) and the best local DJ talent throughout the week.
Leif Young Huckman: After studying experimental theater, Leif promptly formed a band and has been of fixture of the NYC music community ever since, most recently playing bass for Ex Cops. As a musician, Leif started bar tending to pay the bills, and was swept up in the classic cocktail revival. Flash forward several years and you’ll find Leif running one of the most approachable craft cocktail clubs in New York City. Leif set out to create a beautiful environment where you could not only enjoy their now famous Brancoloda, but you can also feel comfortable ordering a Bud Heavy to go along with a taco.
